Ensure the window sill is level and plumb. Prepare the window opening as specified by the manufacturer or envelope consultant.
Install clips no less than 3" and no more than 10" in each direction from every corner, and every 8"-16" depending on the size of the window. (follows AAMA 2400-02 fasteners specifications)
Apply a 3/8" bead of caulk around the entire perimeter of the window and across the back of the window clip. Using glass suction cups, set the bottom of the window in the frame opening and pull the sides and head into the opening.
Drive a nail or screw through each clip at an angle away from the window or door.
Using a pry bar, ensure the window is evenly spaced within the window frame, that the window is level and plumb, and that the "reveal" is even. Shim the sides to eliminate movement.
Near the latch, install at least one 6d nail or screw through a pre-punched hole in the nail flange.
Apply a 6" to 9" self-sealing adhesive to the WINDOW SIDES, ensuring that the entire window clip is covered, i.e. that no part of clip is showing.
Apply a 6" to 9" self-sealing adhesive to the WINDOW HEAD, ensuring that the entire window clip is covered, i.e. that no part of clip is showing.
Any and all of these steps may be superseded by envelope consultant and or engineer.
